The long awaited Sisi Ni Dola Cup final delivered a dramatic football spectacle at Mombasa Sports Club on Friday, with Al Shifaa Media FC edging Green Eagles 2–1 to lift the coveted championship trophy.

The colourful ceremony was graced by several dignitaries from Mombasa County, representatives from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), as well as County Executive Committee Members, who witnessed a thrilling contest between the two finalists.

Green Eagles drew first blood in the 25th minute when Lawrence Dady found the back of the net, giving his side an early advantage.

Al Shifaa responded with renewed attacking intent after the break, with Mohammed Juma producing a moment of magic. Juma spotted Green Eagles goalkeeper William Mandanda off his line before unleashing a spectacular long range effort from near the centre of the pitch, sending the ball into the net to level the contest.

Green Eagles were awarded a penalty following a handball inside the 18 yard box, and Swaleh Yanga kept his composure to convert from the spot.

The match remained tense and fiercely contested as both sides pushed for supremacy. Al Shifaa eventually found the decisive breakthrough to secure a dramatic 2–1 victory, sparking jubilant celebrations from the players, technical bench and supporters.

Al Shifaa head coach Abdulnasser Kassim attributed the victory to meticulous preparation and tactical discipline.

“It was not an easy game, but we had planned for it since their semi final. We studied their game and came up with a plan on how to beat them, and it worked very well,” Kassim said.

Al Shifaa Media Kenya CEO Mwalimu Mwaguzo also hailed the triumph, crediting hard work, discipline, prayer and God’s grace for the team’s success.

“I thank God because it wasn’t easy. Discipline and prayers from the players were key to our success,” he said.
Al Shifaa, who finished third in the inaugural edition, walked away with KSh1 million, while Green Eagles received KSh500,000.

In the individual honours, Joshua Oyoo of Fayaz FC and Enock Lemeyian of Juve FC shared the Golden Boot after scoring five goals each.

Ahmed Hussam of Mombasa Kings was named Young Player of the Tournament, while Green Eagles goalkeeper William Mandanda claimed the Best Goalkeeper award.

Lawrence Okoth was named Player of the Tournament, with each individual award winner receiving a trophy and KSh20,000 in prize money.
