A Man was yesterday arraigned before a Mombasa court on charges of raping a mentally challenged woman.
The particular being that on June 5 this year, in Changamwe sub-county within the county of Mombasa Malack Okindo Ocele intentionally committed the unlawfully act against the 20-year-old victim who is believed to have a mental disability.
Okindo appeared before Mombasa Chief Magistrate, Martha Mutuku to answers the charges of Defilement of Imbecile or Idiots contrary to section 146 C of the penal code and, committing an Indecent act with an adult contrary to section 11 (1) of the sexual offenses Act No.3 of 2006.
The accused was however released on a Kshs.300,000 bond or a cash bail of a similar amount.
