Detectives have arrested 14 suspects among them three Nigerian nationals following a multi agency operation conducted within coast region.

The operation was overseen by officers drawn from various units, namely Anti-Nacotics Unit (ANU) and Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU).
The detectives staged an operation in Mombasa, Kilifi and Lamu counties arresting the 14 whom they said were behind a new wave of drug trafficking.

The detectives conducted the operation in Mombasa on Saturday in areas of stage ya Paka and Mwandoni within Kisauni sub-county two male suspects namely Hussein Mansur Salim and Ali Swale were arrested during the raid.
Further the detectives seized 50 grams of cocaine and one kilogram of Heroin which sources close to the matter said are critical evidence in the case.
Similarly, Harrison Mwenda Kiambi was arrested in Mtwapa’s Maweni area in Kilifi while in possession of Heroin weighing 150 grams valued at ksh.450,000.
A similar operation carried out in Kashani area led to the recovery of 500kgs of bhang with a street value of about ksh.6 million.
One suspect, Paul Musa was also arrested.
In Lamu, detectives recovered cocaine and heroin estimated at Ksh.3.7 million in street value.seven suspects including a woman were also arrested.
In a separate operation carried on thursday 9, in Kisauni and changamwe areas, more than 15 suspected drug addicts were arrested by detectives who were acting on intelligence reports.
According to police, the suspects were arrested in drug trafficking dens in areas of Magodoroni and Magongo Mainland.
they were all apprehended and handed over to NACADA for rehabilitation. Seven of the suspects who had absconded Methadone were recommitted to the program
Cases of drug trafficking at the Coast region have been on the decline in recent days due to sustained police operations.
