The late Bofu Ward MCA aspirant, Salim Kuuza’s house which has been under construction over the last one year has finally been handed over to the family.
Engineers and workers who have been undertaking the works were yesterday evening putting the last touches on the ten-bedroom house ahead of the ceremonial handover.
Hon. Hassan Omar Sarai, the Vice Chairman of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and MP, EALA had during Kuuza’s burial offered to construct a house for his young family at their home through his family’s generous support.
The house is located at Mvumoni village in Bofu Ward, Likoni Constituency within Mombasa county few kilometers from Likoni Ferry crossing channel.
Engineers who were contracted to do the works said they used the latest technology of precast concrete and light gauge steel to build the ksh.6 million house.
Precast concrete wall panels are said to be a cost-effective alternative to the brick-and-mortar walling system.
Construction using this technology is also fast and does not require as much labour hence economical.
According to the deceased’s younger brother, Moyo Abdallah Salim, construction of a decent house for his family and parents was one of Kuuza’s dreams.
He was the first born in a family of eleven.
The late Kuuza was a father of four. He left two of his children in school.
One in form one at Moi Forces high school in Mtongwe whilethe last born is in class eight at Manuari academy in Bofu, Likoni.
