A Chinese national wanted by authorities in Tanzania and China over murder and other related cases has been charged in Mombasa with assaulting his girlfriend, causing her actual bodily harm.
Ling Yao Zheng had on December 10th this year been arrested by Shelly Beach police officers after was accused of assaulting Anne Wambuga Mulei at their senti kumi home in Likoni.
Zheng appeared before Mombasa resident Magistrate Green Odera where he pleaded guilty to the charges of assault causing actual bodily harm contrary to Section 251 of the penal code and unauthorised possession of a firearm contrary to section 4(1) (a) of firearm act.
The suspect will remain in custody until January 19th, 2026, when the matter will be mentioned for fact reading and ruling.
