Police in Mtwapa, Kilifi County have intensified the fight against illicit drugs following the arrest of one suspect and seizure of 35 big rolls of a substance believed to be cannabis sativa.
According to police the narcotics were seized during an intelligence-led operation in a house near Eagle Nest Pub within Mtwapa township.
Officers from the National police service alongside the DCI Anti-Narcortics Unit Mtwapa had yesterday around 9 am acted on information provided by members of the public before raiding Musya Kaluku’s house where he was also arrested.
A search of the house resulted in the recovery of the suspected cannabis and the arrest of Kaluku popularly known as Hustler.
The suspect is currently being held at Mtwapa Police Station pending processing and court arraignment
Police said the recovered drugs have been preserved as exhibits.
Kilifi south sub-county police commander Hassan Kochale has thanked members of the public for providing information and encouraged communities to continue reporting suspected drug-related activities.
