The Chief Executive Office Media Council of Kenya (MCK) David Omwoyo has announced the commencement of a nationwide training programme for media practitioners on the Elections Reporting Guidelines 2027.

Omwoyo said the program is targeting over 4,000 journalists and media practitioners across the country.

He was speaking from the Kenya Broadcasting Coperation (KBC) Mombasa offices yesterday where he also announced the relocation of Mombasa Press Club from Little Theater to KBC buildings in a brief meeting with a select group of journalists.

The CEO noted that the intensive training will focus on preparing journalists and media practitioners on ethical reporting ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The journalists will be trained on Ethical & Fair Reporting, Conflict & Gender-Sensitive Coverage, tools to spot and debunk misinformation generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Addressing safety protocols, digital security, and mental health awareness. Among other key areas.
